Scroll down for our tips on how to tape up your fragile items!

Why Use Fragile Tape?

There are many reasons why you might want to use fragile tape when sending packages. At its most basic, it’s used to inform everyone involved that your package contains fragile items that need special handling. The second part of what you should know about fragile tape is that it protects your goods against damage during transit.

What Size Fragile Tape Do I Need?

The first thing you’ll need to know is how large of a piece of fragile tape you need. Fragile tape comes in various sizes, with each size measuring either 15 inches, 30 inches or 45 inches. Each of these sizes is suitable for use on certain items. Fifteen-inch tape, for example, is ideal for small items like glassware and bottles while 30-inch tape can be used on more sizable objects such as picture frames and lamps. Fifteen- and 30-inch tape should only be wrapped around flat surfaces, such as boxes; 45-inch tape should wrap completely around your package if you’re using it for shipping purposes. This will ensure that all parts of your product remain protected throughout transit. All three sizes also come with one adhesive side and one paper backing side; simply remove half of its protective covering before attaching it to your package.

How Should I Package My Item?

There are a few factors to consider when selecting a box and wrapping materials for your fragile items. The size and shape of your item, how it will be handled, and what you intend to do with it once it arrives all affect what kind of packaging you should use. The key is finding an item that fits snugly in its box and can’t shift around while still being able to protect whatever’s inside from other items or getting damaged during transit.
